Privacy Policy

What we collect

Nothing. The Burly app does not collect, transmit, or store your browsing history, the links you open, or any personal data. There is no account. Apart from checking for app updates, the app makes no network requests, and a Supporter license is checked offline, on your Mac.

Data stored on your device

Burly stores your preferences (discovered destinations, ordering, hidden profiles, and your bypass settings) locally on your Mac. This data never leaves your device. If you are a Supporter, your license token is stored on your Mac too.

Supporter purchases

Becoming a Supporter is optional. Payment is handled by Stripe, which collects your payment details and email address under its own privacy policy; Burly never sees your card. Your license holds only Stripe’s customer and payment ids, never your name or email.

To restore a license, you enter the email you paid with and we send it a one-time code through our email provider, Resend. We store only a hashed form of that email, alongside the code, and both are deleted automatically after the code expires. We keep short-lived records of activations and of request counts per network address to prevent abuse. Questions about your data or a purchase: Contact Support or support@burly.click. Contact Support works the same way: we email a one-time code to confirm the address belongs to a Supporter, storing only a hashed form of the email until the code expires, then forward your name, email, and message to our support inbox so we can reply.

Emailing yourself the download link

On a phone or tablet, you can ask this site to email you Burly’s download link so you can open it on your Mac. We use the address only to send that one email, through our email provider, Resend. It is not added to any mailing list and no account is created. To limit abuse, we keep a hashed form of the address and a count of recent requests per network address for about a day, then delete them automatically. Sharing or copying the link happens on your device and sends nothing to us.

This website

This marketing website may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate visit counts. It does not identify individual visitors. When you start a Supporter purchase, the random analytics identifier for your visit is attached to the payment so the sale, and any refund, can be counted in those analytics. Your name, email address, and card details are never sent to analytics.

The purchase, activation, restore, and support pages, and the form that emails you the download link, use Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise, through Firebase App Check, to block automated abuse. reCAPTCHA is subject to Google’s privacy policy and terms.
