AI Disclosure

Nobody requires this page. I wrote it because the honest details about where AI does and does not touch a product are usually the parts that get left out, and I would rather just tell you. This is a voluntary, ongoing commitment, not a legal document. For the formal data-handling rules, see the Privacy Policy.

There is no AI inside Burly

The Burly app contains no AI. It routes your links locally on your Mac, deciding which browser profile a link should open in based on the rules and destinations you configure. No model runs, no inference happens, and nothing about the links you click is sent anywhere. There is no account and no backend service. The app behaves the same whether or not you are online.

AI in how I build Burly

I use AI to help build Burly, and I want to be specific about how.

• Code. I use Anthropic’s Claude (via Claude Code) to help write, review, and refactor the Swift app and this website. Every change is read and approved by me before it ships.
• Documentation and site copy. AI helps me draft documentation and some of the words on this site. A human reviews and edits all of it.

AI helps me move faster. It does not replace my judgment, and it never gets your data. No user information, browsing history, or private content is ever fed into the AI tools I use to build Burly, because Burly never collects that information in the first place. There is nothing to hand over.

AI-generated visuals

Some of Burly’s visuals (the logo, icons, and illustrations) began as AI-generated concepts. None of them shipped as-is. Each was refined and finalized by hand to fit the product.

How I optimize this site

This marketing site is built and optimized with a set of reusable AI skills and tooling that I maintain across my projects. The same system handles SEO, performance, prerendering, and share images. It shapes how the site is structured, not what is true about the product.

Data and training

Your data is never used to train AI models, because Burly does not collect your data. There is nothing to train on, sell, or share.

Changes to this disclosure

As my use of AI evolves, I will keep this page current so it stays an accurate account rather than a one-time statement.
